The monumental complex of Galliano is one of the finest examples of Romanesque art in Lombardy.
Inside the ensemble are preserved a series of frescoes, painted by an unknown artist who could join together the eastern culture of Byzantium with the late-ancient style of western Europe.
The baptistery is an imposing and massive cruciform structure. It was built on more than one level, and the gallery is still passable today.
On request the tour can be supplemented with a visit to the basilica of San Abbondio in Como, masterwork of the Romanesque style of the end of the XI century.
