The ensemble of San Pietro al Monte, made up of the basilica di San Pietro, the oratory of San Benedetto, and the ruins of the ancient monastery, is not far from Lecco, and can be reached by foot in around 1 hour, along a fine path that goes up along the slope of mount Cornizzolo.
It’s a masterwork of Romanesque architecture and decoration, that seems to symbolically protects all of Brianza.
