This church is located among the narrow streets that pay an homage to the old medieval crafts, like Via Spadari (Swordsmith street) or Via Cappellari (Hatter Street). The location is an important part of this curious and singular jewel of the Renaissance, designed by Donato Bramante.

The building is in fact quite deceitful, thanks to the latest discoveries in perspective Bramante was able to make this very small building look like a majestic church with three naves. He was even able to create a fake apse with less than 1 meter of depth.

The tour can be completed with a visit to the outside of the Duomo and its terraces, or with a visit do the basilica of San Lorenzo Maggiore.
