Milan, Palazzo Reale, from February 2 to June 5, 2016

Palazzo Reale houses a new temporary exhibition dedicated to Symbolism, a late nineteenth-century art movement of French, Italian, Russian and Belgian.

The symbolist painters used mythological and dream imagery. The symbols used by symbolism are not the familiar emblems of mainstream iconography but intensely personal, private, obscure and ambiguous references.

Klimt, Segantini, Redon, Bocklin James Ensor e Moreau are the best famous artists of this tendency. Their masterpieces are shown inside this unmissable exhibition.
